 Current Status:
The South Fork Complex is currently managed by Oregon Interagency Incident Management Team 4 (Brian J. Watts). The fire is 20 miles south of John Day.
Murderers Creek South Fire: There was no movement on the west flank yesterday; fixed wing aircraft (SEATS) also dropped retardant on the NW corner to prevent fire spread toward Jackass Creek; containment line established on SE flank.  Additional heavy equipment arrived today to help on the east flank.  Burnouts will continue along Road 2490 to establish containment lines.
Buck Fork Fire: Line prep continues for burnout on the SE corner along Deer Creek and on the NW corner along Davis Creek.
Closure:   A Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) is in place and a Fire Closure is in effect for the entire South Fork Complex fire area.  Visit http://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/4042/ for a complete copy of the closure.

Transitional weather is expected in the next 24-36 hours with mostly sunny skies and drier air coming in from the west.  Northerly winds with gusts up to 10 mph. Slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms and gusty outflows winds.
